Socks are Among the Most Needed Items at Local Shelters

To say that this year’s “Warm Their Soles” sock drive was an incredible success would be an understatement!  Nearly 5,000 pairs of socks were collected by our members from their residents, family members, friends, vendors, and clients during the month of November. 

The St. Louis Apartment Association’s (SLAA) NextGen Chapter and the Community Awareness committee teamed up to execute this fundraiser.  The socks were delivered to three homeless shelters in St. Louis including Gateway 180, Peter and Paul, and the St. Patrick Center.  A special “thank you” to Carl Hanly with KeyTrak, Jenn Heuer with InterSolutions Staffing; Laura Bruyere with Apartment Leasing Solutions; Jon Woodrome with Venturi Restoration by ATI; and Jesse Tierney with Mills Properties!  Thank you so much for stepping in to help with the HUGE job of sorting, labeling boxes, and delivering 5,000 pairs of socks!   We know that those less fortunate will find great comfort in a warm pair of socks especially as winter sets in throughout the St. Louis area.

SLAA would like to thank the communities, companies, and individuals that supported this effort. We not only brought some holiday cheer to many people looking for help, but we also were able to Warm Their Soles.
