A Call for Nominations goes out in late January / early February, based on the number of open seats. An application is submitted to the Association Executive, along with a photo and bio of the candidate.
Elections take place in late February / early March of each year via electronic ballot. Election results are announced in March. The new Board of Directors is installed at the June Board Meeting.

SLAA's Executive Board includes the Board President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Immediate Past President, and the current President of the SLAA Product & Service Council.
Two additional members of the SLAA Product & Service Council (usually the vice presidents) serve on the Board of Directors.
